The ATU Sligo Innovation Centre

Welcome to the new website for ATU Sligo Innovation Centre. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce the team and provide some information on our history, what we do and the services we provide.

The Innovation Centre at ATU Sligo was among the first Business Centres in Ireland to be established by an Institute of Technology (IT). It aimed to address the strategic imperative of the former Sligo Regional Technical College (RTC) in creating a regional hub for research, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Our current building was completed in 2000 with funding from Enterprise Ireland and encompasses 3000m2 of office, lab, meeting and social room space over three floors. A broad cohort of businesses at various stages of advancement are accommodated in the Centre thus allowing the creation and facilitation of an open, cohesive, collaborative environment among these groups. The Centre also hosts ATU staff conducting advanced, commercially focused research, industry-partnered projects and community engaged initiatives. The combination of research and innovation specialists with business leaders is one of the key features to fostering a successful incubation environment.

The Centre is managed and supported by a multi-disciplinary team with extensive skills and experience. Our Centre manager and administrative staff, reporting to the Head of Enterprise and Engagement, are at hand to address current and prospective occupant enquiries and concerns. Also on our team are staff from Regional Skills North West and New Frontiers entrepreneurship training programme.

Between us we are well positioned to provide the facilities, expertise, advice, connections and networks to best support your fledgling business enterprise or ATU engagement activities.
